Their frame is made up of a 2x4-inch steel tube frame fit with steel cross members underneath to provide maximum support. The wall frame is a 1x1-inch tube frame with 24-inch centers to support those lightweight aluminum walls, which are rivet less and held on by skyscraper grade two sided tape.
Our Southland 7x18 cargos also come standard with the extra height, no more hitting your head on the door while loading and unloading your gear. The 7x18 will come standard with 3/4-inch floors and 3/8-inch plywood walls. On the exterior of the trailer, you will see analuminum diamond plate cover to protect the aluminum panels from road debris.
The Southland 7x18 comes with two 3.5k axles, with trailer brakes, with multi-leaf spring suspension and equalizer to maintain stability on the road. You will also find that there is standard man door on the passenger side to provide easy access to the interior of the trailer.
Once inside, you have one interior light next to the man door, you will no longer have to walk blindly in the dark to find that light switch, and a side vent to provide ventilation for your trailer.
All of that only weighs in around 2,465 pounds and gives you a payload capacity of around 5,350 pounds. The overall length of this trailer is 20 feet, the ramp door height is 80 inches, once inside the cargo it measures 86 inches tall from floor to ceiling, 79 inches wide and 17.5 feet long. You can get the Southland 7x18 equipped with a heavy-duty ramp door or the barn doors.
